Bancho Dance-oh

This really made my day.

*edit* Oh yeah, this post is totally dedicated to Erin.

For those of you who don't know, these guys are the epitome of the "bancho" or "tough-guy" stereotype (pompadour and all). Why they were in a circle dancing to Japanese 50's-American style music is beyond me but boy am I glad they were.

Oh Yeah. This is amazingly funny! I'm gonna watch this video a couple of more times --- no wine needed. If only I could get my hips to move like that! Too cool.

BANCHOOOOOOUUUU!!! Remember that? REMEMBER? It's weird, but the one in the jean jacket and pants kind of reminded me of my dad. He used to dance all crazy exactly like that. How can they do the splits and get back up in leather pants? How, I ask? It defies gravity and logic. Were you hiding crouched in the bushes? The angle makes it look that way. "Observe the wild banchou, in his natural habitat..."

Haha - they're actually part of this Rockabilly Club thing which explains the 50s music. Think 'Grease'. Apparently they've been around for decades.
